His Grace the Bishop Seraphim of Apollonias visiting our Parish on Mothers Day!



On Sunday the 11th May, (Mother's Day) we will have the joy, once again, to welcome in our Church His Grace Bishop Seraphim. His Grace will visit our Parish on behalf of His Eminence, Archbishop STYLIANOS, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia.


The Bishop will celebrate the Divine Liturgy in our Church and will preach the Gospel. Following the Liturgy, His Grace will attend the Mother's Day luncheon and will have the time to associate with our Parishioners.

Please be in Church the latest by 9.30 am, and invite to this special event all your relatives and friends. Also, bring with you your photographic and video gear to take some souvenir of the day.
His Grace Bishop Seraphim

Born in 1949 in Athens. After the completion of his secondary education at Halandri of Attica, he attended and studied Theology at the University of Salonika. He continued with post-graduate studies at the faculty of Practical Theology at the same University. He was ordained Deacon in 1975 and priest at the end of the same year, serving for four years at the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain. In 1980 he was appointed to the Holy Metropolis of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, where he served for six years as parish priest of the Church of Saint Paraskevi. 

In 1986 His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia invited him to the Fifth Continent and appointed him parish priest at the Archdiocesan Church of St. Eustathios, next to His Grace the Assistant Bishop of Derbis Ezekiel, in Melbourne. On the 12th of March 1991 he was unanimously elected a Bishop, with the honorary title of Apollonias. He serves in the First Archdiocesan District of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, based in Sydney, as Assistant Bishop to the Archbishop.

THE GREEK ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN SOCIETY

OF SYDNEY & NEW SOUTH WALES.

Ιt is with great pleasure we wish to inform you that on next Sunday, February 9, the Members of the GREEK ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN SOCIETY of Sydney are visiting our city.

On Sunday morning at the Church of the Holy Apostles, the Choir of the Society will chant during the Orthos and the Divine Liturgy, between 8am to 11am, and at the end of the Service, their Leader, Preacher and Medical practitioner Mr. John Psaromatis, will preach the Word of the Gospel to the Congregation.

After the Divine Liturgy at our Community Hall, a wide range of Orthodox Books for people of all ages, in both Greek and English languages will be available, ​​as well as other items for our Orthodox worship.

Please do not miss this rare opportunity to be with us.
